Frequently Asked Questions - Conveyancing
What is conveyance?
Conveyance is the official transfer of property from one person to another and involves the drafting of all relevant legal documents necessary for the transfer. This will ensure that the property being transferred includes the security of land title and all of its associated rights, and that any land restrictions are being brought to attention before the purchase.
Who is allowed to complete conveyance work?
Conveyance is usually completed by a conveyance lawyer or a licensed conveyancer. Generally the process will take 4-6 weeks during which time they will perform a number of legal requirements in real estate transactions such as title searches, checking restrictions on the property, handling councils and prepare legal documents.
